My ongoing goal for infrared photography is to get beyond the "cool" factor of the spectrum and take images that don't immediately read as IR. This is probably one of my most successful in that regard to date.

For digital cameras you can take them apart (carefully and in a dust-free environment) and replace the internal IR cut filter (looks like a piece of slightly iridescent glass) with several layers of cut-to-size exposed film negative. Older digital cameras are likely to be more IR-receptive, so if you want to give this a go I'd say try to find an older canon or whatnot on ebay or craigslist. I'd also say practice (if possible) is an excellent idea.

nice, but not as good as some of your other shots, the lighting isn't as dramatic in this one...

saying it isnt as nice as the other ones is like saying "I dont like banana sponge cake as much as strawberry sponge cake"... its still awesome, I just like strawberry sponge cake better :P
