Shadow of Io by sirgerg Shadow of Io by sirgerg
The sixth piece in for my series as part of the Experience The Planets project.

"The closest of the Jovian moons, Io's orbit regularly brings it between Jupiter and the sun. Viewed from below this passage would be a dramatic event as darkness fell amidst Jupiter's wild wind and lightning."

When I clicked on this, I was a bit shocked - a deja vu moment - as I'm working on a similar series. (Fortunately our styles and subjects are different!) Unique and gorgeous view of a part of our mysterious little corner of the Universe.

I have immediatly recognized Jupiter with its vast hurricane ;)

The concept of the Io shadow is very interesting.
If I remember, Io is a volcano satellite, isn't it ?

This piece is absolutely stellar. I actually saw your picture on the Experience the Planets website when I was on Stumbleupon. That must have been such an opportunity for you to produce work for that site, the other stuff on there is really good as well.
